Who is behind VMA ? Two astronomy passioned friends, each one in a special domain (The Moon for the first and astronomy computing and programming for the second) whose reunion has permitted the VMA realization.

This one is also provided to worlwide observers because of the help of numerous free translators that must be also thanked for their personal job.

To make this new “Pro” version available for those who don't have wide band download possibilities (About 300 Mb with textures and overlays), and even more with the pictures libraries (About 700 Mb), we have realized a CD-Rom including and installing the complete VMA “Pro 5.1” version (ATLUN (c), DATLUN (c), PHOTLUN (c), databases, “high resolution” textures, dynamic shadows, scientific overlays and pictures libraries).

We had generous offers from some VMA users that asked us how they could help us for the software improvement. This one is sure a free action of ourselves and we don't ask any financial help for this product which is only the reflect of our astronomical passions.

“Virtual Moon Atlas” realisation by its authors wouldn't have been possible without the support of several world wide known lunar scientists and without the preleminary huge job made by US official organizations involved in Moon exploration.

Ensure you have the original file

The VMA files do not contain any virus or other “add-on” when they are build.

The Sourceforge.net servers used for the distribution are known to be reliable, they are used without problem by thousands of software.

Against you must be careful if you have downloaded the VMA on another site.
