Summary0000360: Some catalogues not searchable with 'Advanced Search'
DescriptionFor stars from the USNO-A catalogue, there is no possibility in the menu to search them.
For PGC objects the possibility seems to exist, but I receive an error that suggests that I didn't install the catalog. (And I know for sure it's there, because CdC shows the PGC objects correctly.)
Also, for UGC objects there seems to be no way to search them.

At the position RA 07h 44m 42s, DE +29d 13m 41s you can find a galaxy. CdC can report it by the names "UGC03995", "PGC 21673" or "A 0741+29" (3' Ref. Cat. Bright Galaxies) , but unfortunatly there are no ways to find galaxy by the search tools provided by CdC.

Also a bit funny, when I configure solely the PGC catalogue, CdC prints to objects close to oneother. It also reports UGC and PGC data for the same object. It depends a bit where to click the object..

Marc,

About the galaxy please install the latest PGC from Jeff Burton because some older version include a bad index:
http://x.astrogeek.org/software/cdc/catalog.php?catalogue_id=2

With this one I can search for PGC 21673 without problem. UGC 03995 do not work because Jeff do not include an alternate index when building this catalog.
This galaxy is double, it also show PGC 93091 30" to the west, you can clearly see them on the DSS2 blue with a fov of 5'.

About USNO-A I need to add the search function. As the catalog is sequential there is no need for an index and it may not be too difficult to implement.
