| Description | I experienced this while using the Dutch language, as a non-Administrator user. Actually, I didn't had a mount connected on my com-port, but I suspect that that doesn't matter for what I saw here. I received French message while I attempted to save my LX200 settings. It does this with selected drivers "meade.tid" and "ascom.tid". The message: Impossible d'écrire dans C:\Program Files\ciel\scope.ini When I want to save the configuration with the "encoder.tid" selected, the message becomes -funny enough- English: Unable to write C:\Program Files\ciel\scope.ini. | ||||

I didn't test this on Linux (yet). A non-Administrator has -of course- no rights to write in this directory, I expect the program wants to write settings to the skychart.ini file in the user data directory, such as C:\Documents and Setings\[user]\local Settings\Application Data\Skychart. |

Hi, this is maybe related to 3.0.1.5/1185 change few releases ago: http://www.ap-i.net/mantis/view.php?id=438 when folder names have changed. Regards |

I suspect the Linux version is somehow affected too. At least there is a difference with the 'Telescope' menu. With Windows, the pull down shows 3 lines: 'Control Panel', 'Slew' and 'Sync'. With Linux, there are 4 lines: 'Connect Telescope', 'Control Panel', 'Slew' and 'Sync'. Did I mention the Telescope Interface part? With Linux, you can choose from the menu 'Setup -> System -> Telescope' from the 'INDI interface' and the manual interface. There is no support for the 'Ascom interface'. That's not a problem, because Ascom isn't supported with Linux. My question is about Windows: Is INDI supported under Windows? I tried to find the answer by Google. I never explicitly read that it isn't supported, but I couldn't find information about INDI and Windows eiher. If INDI isn't supported with Windows, it might be a good idea to remove it from the configuration options in the Windows version. |

This is because I not do many change to the plugin since version 2. I need to send to the plugin the location to write the configuration. At the moment I not plan to port the plugin to Linux, maybe they will disappear totally in the future in the favour of only Ascom and Indi interface. Indi can work on Windows, I have compiled them in the past and you can find them in old version like the alpha 3.0.0.6. But I am no sure anyone use them so it is probably best to remove the option on Windows. |

I think the following is related to this bug. When I go to Telescope => Control Panel => Select I get the following message; "Run-time error '-2147220416(80040440)'; Failed to open/create root registry key (5)" Then when I try to close the control panel with the X icon at the upper right I get; "Impossible d'écrire dans C:\Program Files\ciel\scope.ini" The other buttons on the control panel appear to function. I get the same results using both the beta version 3.0.1.6-1202 and the development version 3.1-1216 running on Windows Vista |

Workaround: run skychart.exe as administrator. This also 'fixes' 0000494. |

Revision 1317 fix this problem by writing the plugin configuration at the same place as the skychart configuration. http://svn.origo.ethz.ch/viewvc/skychart?view=rev&revision=1317 |
