| Description | Summary provides a complete description. Bug is a KDE bug but triggered by menu font and color choices. Ability to customize menus would provide a workaround. KDE version 4.2.2 on Ubuntu When attempting to get a screen shot I saw Gimp had same issue. | ||||

This is a GTK+ theme problem, I think it's not possible to change theme settings under a single application. This problem is due to the fact you use KDE, that is based on QT... try to search in Ubuntu repos for "gtk-qt", this application should provide you a way to use your QT theme (KDE) in GTK+ apps. Mattia, good call. However, I had gtk-qt-engine installed prior to this happening. Note for others experiencing the problem: In Applications & Settings -> Look & Feel -> Appearance there is a menu item for GTK Styles and Fonts. Use that dialog to select either the Qtcurve or Raleigh style. Restart Skywatch and you should have visible menus again. This implies that a custom style should work, ie one that is not based on the QT4 style. This Issue should be closed as there is a workaround. |

This is not a workaround but the correct configuration of your GTK environment with a working theme! After the Scheme selection in KDE4 system setting there is an Options tab with a checkbox "Apply color to non-KDE4 applications" that control this behavior. For me Oxygen scheme work fine. Anyway it is the theme responsibility to set font and color for the menu, not the application. |
