| Summary | 0000610: calculate the true moon rotation relative to the horizon (display option) | |||||||||||
| Description |
i often run VMA after spotting the real moon through my window (to see what interesting craters could be observed tonight) and the first thing i see is that VMA is "wrong" - the real moon is tilted differently. sure, i can use "East" and "West" buttons to correct it, but it would be nice if the application capable of displaying realistic terminator shading, could also calculate the trivial moon rotation to complete the perfect look of the virtual moon. this should be an option, because i guess the experienced moon observers will probably prefer the current way with moon poles at fixed locations, as seen in all other atlases. |
