|Summary||0001827: Possibility to see clipped stars|
I started to experiment a little bit with my new camera (ASI1600), especially with the two main variable factors, that is gain and offset.
AFAIK, one of the main problems with these new CMOS cameras is the correct choice of gain and offset, wrong settings can lead to clipped (burnt) stars or background.
So the question came to my mind: would it be possible to implement in CCDciel a function that could allow to see, right on the very image just downloaded from the camera, the clipped pixels?
This way one could progressively adjust gain and offset until a satisfactory level of clipped pixels is reached.
Could it be feasible?
Thank you very much.

Yes, I can add an option in Preference/Preview to set the high and low clipping color.
This will set the color for pixel clipped in the camera, not by the visualization histogram threshold.
This implemented by revision 610.
A new button "Show highlight and shadow clipping" is added in the Visualization tool.
