Summary0002261: It would be nice to have a link that would automatically update exoplanet names
Description112 exoplanets and the stars they orbit have been named recently, and this is likely to continue. I can't find a way to simply update the catalog to reflect the changes. It would be really nice to have a link or button that would copy new data into the catalog, allowing items to have multiple names (rather than creating a new object).

Yes, but do this link exists?
I don't know of a list with this recent names and the star coordinates that is required to do something in CdC.
It need a fixed column text file or a Virtual Observatory format, then CdC as already all the tools to display, search, refresh the list.

About the display of label on the chart, a difficulty will be the label overlap for the stars with many named planet.

Please tell me if you know the URL to download such a file.

It's not quite what you're looking for, but it's close. The excel file provides links to Simbad.

It is difficult to use this excel file because of the missing star coordinates.

I find another source that can be used directly by Skychart using the Virtual Observatory interface: http://exoplanet.eu/catalog/
It has the advantage to contain the full 4000 know planets and is regularly updated with new measurement. It can be use with current Skychart version without change in the program.
But it not contain the new popular name.

Because this full list is very interesting for the observer I write a new documentation page how to use this catalog with Skychart:
https://www.ap-i.net/skychart/en/documentation/exoplanet

With this two source of data it is probably possible to merge the coordinates using the star identification as the key, then produce a text catalog in a format Skychart can use. https://www.ap-i.net/skychart/en/documentation/catgen
But I not have enough free time to maintain that myself.
