Summary0002273: Preferences- Slewing tab- Run astrometry on every image to search for drift- not working
DescriptionPreferences- Slewing tab- Run astrometry on every image to search for drift- not working in the last few builds.

Also to be useful to me is; it possible to lower the lowest value in the "Recenter if the drift is more than" to ~.5 arcmin?

This is a similar problem to the HFD measurement.
Here the additional condition are:

- astrometry is configured.
- the capture must be part of a sequence where the target coordinates are set so we know the coordinates to check.
- the exposure time is longer than the configured astrometry timeout.

The smaller drift value you can set is 1.5 x the slew target precision.
So to recenter at 0.5' you must set the target precision to 0.3'.
But be sure the mount is capable of this precision.

Bt the way I wanted to mention that using your offset pointing routine I am able 90% of the time on the second attempt at precision slewing to get to .1 acr min or less. No other software that I have tried will get my mount within 1.5 arc min. I have a old CGEM mount carrying an 11" SCT. However your doing the offset DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING! It is awesome!

No problem, it is better the program show a message when it not do something that is configured.

Good for the pointing precision!
If everything work as expected the remaining error is often due to the mount backlash.
