DescriptionHello Patrick,

For some additional ASTAP settings and for testing a so called debug mode has been added to ASTAP. I would suggest to add an "advanced" button to the astrometry tab. This button should execute ASTAP in either

astap.exe -debug

or

astap.exe -f c:\images\image.fits -z 0 -r 30 -debug

The debug option allows to set some solving parameters in the GUI (graphical user interface) and to test the commandline. In debug mode all commandline parameters are set and the specified image is shown in the viewer. Only the solve command has to be given manually:

The disadvantage of the last option is that it will generate a solve using and older ASTAP version. So for the moment the commandline:

astap.exe -debug

is probably the best option This will work both with the old and new versions of ASTAP. An other option is to use the full commandline and add a text message for version 0.9.389 or higher only.

Most users will never use this option so you could consider not to implement this feature request.

Steps To Reproduce ASTAP development version 0.9.389 (file version 0938 or higher) has a -debug option.

Download ASTAP development version Windows:

Yes this is fine. Thanks.

There is a small problem in ASTAP showing a file error if called using the new "advanced" button but I will fix that.
