Summary0001404: 3.4 Version OBJECTs DATA
Descriptionhttp://www.ap-i.net/pub/skychart/mpc/mpc5000.dat

This is what u have for update on mpc for its asteroid data. My question is,
how can I altar this link to update more current data of the same
that is supplied by the Minor Planet Center. I do mean, this is not with
the names that are supplied from ap-i, As it is a differ url, but does this mean that the data is differ when it is displayed on the ap-i site, for if it is, then it would not work right? For it seems you never update this file on the ap-i or whoever it belongs to. Is there some way that I can still use the same files avail from the MPC, in the 3.4 version... For there are several new asteroids listed now, and the old listing is not finding these objects. Feedback please on MPC files... Is it possible to change the url in the update of the MPC in the 3.4 version so to get the newer data... I think this is what I am asking... ?

The file http://www.ap-i.net/pub/skychart/mpc/mpc5000.dat is updated every day from the current MPCORB. It contain only the first 5000 numbered asteroids to keep the download small for all the people only marginally interested by the asteroids.

For your other question please read the documentation:
