Summary0001413: Object List ' Sort/Search
DescriptionI have noticed and not really used this feature because, for it does not have a sort by distance included inside. Like, earth to object. solar to object..? This would be great, if somehow, you can get this added of to the list - RA DEC TYPE NAME MAGN = of the sort features. And would be appreciated of no doubt's when its working. I do have another item in reference to this that I would like to post here and share for others to use of. I shall list that in Additional Info
Additional InformationThis is a free converter that has a Custom tab built in, that anyone can program it. WE do use this much to do fast converts of Astronomical Units AU to miles, to check objects very quick on their reality distance. For most people are very used to miles from driving distances in cars. This is that link, to download of. And no install is needed. All YOU do, is just open it and use it.... https://joshmadison.com/convert-for-windows/ A trully GREAT TOOL...

Thank you for the Converter link, very useful.

Sorting is limited to this fields because this is the only columns that are common to all the objects type.
As you can see in your screenshot the column with the distance for the asteroid contain the illumination for the planets, so it make no sens to sort this column without more data filtering first.

As I not have the intent to rewrite Excel I add the Save button on the bottom right to save the data in CSV format.
This file can be open in Excel or OpenOffice to let you play with the data.

Do this work for you?

I agree it can be useful to sort on any column if you manage to get an homogeneous sample in the list.

Revision 3427 add the capability to sort on any column:
