Perhaps, this can be improved a bit, if not too complex. What is not shown in Object list are other background stars. This may be useful sometime to count it as well, for instance on small FOV there will be much more objects than actually is listed and may be useful to list it as well.
Perhaps some filter may be added as well, to filter from the list only planets and satellites, stars, DSO...
Just a though.

Sasa, you can select what you want on the list, including the stars, by a right click on the button, or Setup / Chart.coordinates / Object list.
So I not think it necessary to add a filter in the list itself.
In the list you can also sort by Type to group the different objects, and for more complex thing, just save as CSV and open in a spreadsheet software.
