DescriptionComet tracking, the RA value is incorrect.
We try c/2018 W2, the given value for PHD2 is 187 wut is must be somthing like the double value.
Location Amsterdam
dRA=-21.5sec/h= 322.5 arcsec

Comet 'C/2018 W2' Magnitude= 8.5mag (in hyperbolic orbit)
Best seen from 21.2h - 5.9h (htop=63° at S at 1.7h) (in constellation Andromeda)
RA= 0h25m38s Dec=+25°22.7' (J2000), hourly motion: 517.8"/h Position angle=215.1° dRA=-21.5sec/h dDec=-425.7"/h, Distance to Sun= 1.48AU, Distance to Earth= 0.51AU, Elongation=154°, h=31.1° az=87.6°/E, Sun altitude=-15°, Elongation from Moon center=95°, Moon elevation=-16°, Moon phase=32%

I cannot reproduce the error.

You not give the time of observation, so I was computing for today September 23 at 0h UT.
At this time we have dRA=-21.95s and the value in the PHD2 panel is -290.85

In your computation you forget to multiply by the cosine of declination, at 0h UT the declination was +27.95°
The computation is 21.95*15*cos(27.95)=290.85

Can you check again if you really get this value of 187 ?

I not remember if I fix something on this subject recently. But in any case can you install the last beta version because this is the version I can make any correction.
It is available from https://sourceforge.net/projects/skychart/files/0-beta/2019-09-23/

My son's laptop does produce the correct values.

My desktop has produced the correct values twice, but after searching for the object again, i get the incorrect values.

2 screenshots, one of my sons laptop, other of my desktop.

My son's desktop pc produces the same (wrong) values as mine,

When you get the wrong value, can you check it is using the right elements for the computation. Show the detailed object information and look for the ref: field, it must be "ref: 6/2019-05-14"

Also please upgrade to the 4.1.1 beta version, I cannot give support on a version that is more than two years old.

It looks like it is the wrong object.

OK, so there is no error with the PHD2 interface or the comet computation but this is because you get some wrong elements for this comet.
I don't know how, maybe a temporary glitch in the MPC, or a file you download elsewhere? but this is easy to fix.

Open the menu Setup / Solar system / Comet tab / Data maintenance tab.
On the line "Quickly delete all data related to comet" click the button "Delete", then click OK.
Open the menu Update / Comet elements.
When complete activate the comet display again.

Ok, this looks better, I deteled the file and the related data.
Thank you for help.

Good, thank you for the feedback.

What I can do to prevent this situation is to automatically delete the previous data when updating the elements from the menu Update / Comet elements.
Most user do not need to keep old data and advanced user that need to accumulate many files can still use the full options in the menu Setup / Solar system.
