| Description | Displays a catalog error message when searching for a comet - only on startup. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1. Open Skychart 2. Select search on the toolbar (magnifying glass) 3. Choose 'Comet' 4. Find a comet in the list (I was using C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) naturally) 5. Click 'find'. An error box appears saying the catalog could not be found. However: 6. Select Ephemeris 7. Select the Comet tab 8. Choose a comet. 9. Double click on a date/time and close the dialogue. Now if you repeat steps 1-5 it works fine and you find the comet. | ||||

I cannot reproduce the problem, for me it work the first time from the search dialog. Maybe there is some conflict in your configuration. Can you upload here the file skychart.ini located in the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\skychart (you can type this text in the File Explorer address bar) |

I don't know what to say. Before I posted this I'd repeated the problem three times. After I found - or thought I found - a way round it. I didn't try again. And now I can't reproduce it either. So. If I see it again I'll report it but for now we'll have to leave it. |
