I uninstalled ASCOM 7, rebooted and installed ASCOM 6.5, this resulted in the same error on versions 4891 and 2 but not on 4890. I'm using the latter versions of Celestron handsets with usb connection on CGX-L mount using CPWI 256 |

This is very strange because 4891 is a cosmetic change for the time display on Mac, and 4892 is a change in the script installer for Linux, so nothing related to the telescope and ASCOM. But the error is in the CPWI driver, reported from the ASCOM Chooser. At this point CdC do nothing that calling the Chooser to return a driver name. A good test to isolate if the error is in CPWI or in the Chooser is to select one of the ASCOM telescope simulator in the Chooser. If this work you really need to look closer at the CPWI install. I try to install CPWI on my system, it not go far because I not have a Celestron mount, but with 4892 I can select it in the Chooser and try to connect from CdC where it tell me it not find a mount. |

Hi Patrick, The simulators seem to work OK so I'll look into the CPWI. I'll keep you updated. Give me a day or two. |

Good afternoon Patrick, I managed to get both 4891 and 2, ASCOM/CPWI to talk to each other. Although 4890 installed with no problem the only way I could get 4891 and 2 to work was by turning off Windows 11 "Device Security" and "Virus and threat protection" and reinstalling both Ciel and ASCOM. On turning protection back on everything worked as expected. It's strange i did not need to do this with the earlier ciel versions |

Thank you Richard. This is good for me to know the strange reason why it not worked. Maybe the anti-virus do not like the beta version that change the program signature so often? Unfortunately there is nothing I can do when this software decide to block a functionality. What is really bad is it not tell you it blocked something. |
