I see this map more as a quick check for the selected location. This avoid gross error as wrong longitude sign and homonym location.

The "Vicinity" button can be used to find the nearest location after you click on the map. The only problem is you must select the right country. Maybe I can add a "All" selection in the country list? but the "update" button need to be disabled.
Or a new search button that return the location and the country.

But this form is already overloaded. Maybe it is necessary to put the database maintenance function to a new tab?

Yes, I see the map exacty the same, as a quick location set.

Also, since cities are in the database, perheps it is deppreciated that search of cities be strict connected to selected country. Then searching on gived citie can collect correct country as well and listbox of the country cities can be used to show all cities in selected country instead of result by matching search string. To be precise:

- Entering searching string returns list of matches cities in current city combobox
- Selecting city from city combobox, chage country regarding city setting
- When manually change Country combobox, in combobox are listed all cities in the country, based on matched search string.
- Since in sqlite3 can store full unicode, at least UTF-8 can be used (to preserve compatible with currently support of UTF-8 by lazarus). This can be used to avoid problem with character's for original name of the city. Anyway, I haven't manage to use unicode (UTF-8) in Lazarus with windows at this moment (UNICODE is present in charset, but it doesn't gives expected results).W ith Troy Wolbrink's Tnt unicode components was no problem in Delphi.

The "Vicinty" button can be changed with "Nearest city track" checkbox. Clicking on map it will automatically find nearest city and put sorounded vicintly cities in city cobmobox.

Perhaps, new tab page is not needed if suggested way is suitable enough?

Another 10 years old issue...
I think that is all of unresolved decade ago issues. :)

Whenever this was interesting in the past, now may be not. Actually I find that current form is to complex and often it is a bit of doubt to me where to put some temp position (e.g. maximum Solar eclipse point in Pacific ocean or similar ).
