Summary0002183: Severe crash of Virtual Planet Atlas with MacOs 10.14 Mojave
DescriptionHello,

I had used Virtual Planet Atlas 2.0 with an old Mac on Yosemite for years without problems.

After having purchased a new MacBookPro on MacOS 10.14 Mojave, I migrated my data, and try to opened Virtual Planet Atlas. I got the splash screen, and then suddenly the Mac closed my session and reverted to the connexion screen, asking for my username and password. At session relaunch, Virtual Planet Atlas opened, with the same result. I was forced to remove the application with an other account.

I re-installed Virtual Planet Atlas from the website http://www.ap-i.net/avp/fr/start, the result was slightly different : at opening, my session closes, reverting to the connexion screen, but afterwards Virtual Planet Atlas does not relaunch automatically.

Then I can't use this application anymore. I have a good friend who also got a Mac on Mojave few months ago and have the same problem.

Thank you for investigation !

Unfortunately there is nothing I can do to fix this issue.
The origin of the problem is Apple progressively remove OpenGL support from macOS, making the program to no more work on the Mac.

The only solution for now is to install the Windows version with Wine: https://www.winehq.org/

I have already removed all reference to macOS on the Virtual Moon Atlas web pages and your issue remind me to do the same for the Virtual Planet Atlas.
