Description | Recently a bug started to occur when I want to select the telescope (ASCOM). When using the x64 version no options appear, although the ASCOM drivers for the telescopes are installed. If I use the x32 version there is no problem. CDC tells me that the file 'sortkey.nlp' is missing. The first time in the fresh installation it is possible to see the ASCOM telescope option of the last configuration, although this does not work. When I reload CDC again no ASCOM telescope option appears. I was forced to use the CDC version x32, with which there is no problem. This issue coincided with an attempt to guide using FireCapture V2.7.10 x64 and a Win10 Home update. I checked the permissions and many of the folders of all the software involved, but I did not detect any apparent problem. It is strange that with the x32 version there is no problem and there is with the x64. Hugs | ||||

Hi Jesus, Strange problem, but I doubt this error is related to CdC because the message is from the ASCOM Chooser and the file sortkey.nlp is part of Microsoft .Net software that CdC itself do not use. To be sure do the following: - From the Windows Start menu, ASCOM Platform 6, select ASCOM Diagnostics - In the diagnostics menu, select "Choose Device", then "Choose and connect to device" - A window open with the title: "Device Connection Tester - 64bit OS - Operating in 64bit mode" - Select device type : Telescope - Click the button "Choose" If you get an error message please ask for help in the ASCOM support group: https://ascomtalk.groups.io/g/Help |

Hi Patrick. I checked with ASCOM Diagnostic x64 and it didn't show any problem. Today I saw the new CdC update, installed the x64 version and the problem is gone. This is very strange, since I tried several old versions of CdC x64 and the problem persisted. I'll be watching to see if it shows up again. Hugs |
