Summary | 0000296: feature cross hairs
Description | feature to add a cross hair /wire (+), like a + sign with a dot in center of map with offset rotation angle & position, similar to CCD frame Dialog. from http://www.surveyhistory.org/cross-hairs1.htm Cross hairs are the grand source of all the precision of modern Astronomy. The magnifying powers of the eye-piece will then detect the slightest deviation from perfect coincidence. Usually, one cross-hair is horizontal, and other vertical, but sometimes they are arranged as "X', which is thought to enable the object to be bisected with more precision (along planets axis of rotation and equator). A horizontal hair is sometimes added. Sir John Herschel. I think the cross hair lines width should be around half screen pixel size. as when a star is precisely in occultation with a planet/moon center/axis which is unObservable, but can only be calculated. or jupiter moons events timing. Great software. thanks
