Can you give more information about the VO catalog you setup and how you make the search?

I make some testing and it is working as expected.

You can search for the field you select as "Name" in the catalog setting. Use the Preview button to be sure of the name syntax.

Also if this is a big catalog it search only in the partial data you have downloaded.
Use the menu Edit / Advanced search , "Internet NED,Simbad,Vizier" to search in full online catalog.

Hi Patrick,

I'm having troubles with Sharpless catalogue. It's identified as "Catalogue of HII Regions (Sharpless 1959) The Sharpless Sh 2 Catalogue" and can be found by simply using "sharpless" as search field.
It's made of just 131 rows and I'm using the identifier automatically set by SkyChart (e.g. "Sh2 120").

For me this catalog work. After I add it using all the default option I can search for Sh2 120 in the quick search box.

Are you sure the catalog is active (green in VO catalog list)
and the "Show Virtual Observatory data" button in object bar is checked.

Ehm... for me the catalog works too.
I uninstalled SkyChart to switch to 64b and then I restored the most annoying sections (circular and rectangular fields of view, chart settings, ...) from a backup skychart.ini
But I forgot the "Show Virtual Observatory data" button...

Sorry for my mistake.

No problem, I also forget this button many time.
But I also like to have the capability to activate or remove all the vo catalog in one click.

I keep the issue open to find a way automatically activate the button if you activate a vo catalog in the list or if you add a new catalog. This must solve most of the case.

With revision 3159 the button is now checked when you add or activate a VO catalog.
