| Description | On SkyChart you are unable to go back thousands of yeras for example 3968 BC. The chart will not display any of the planets on the chart including the position of sun and moon. | ||||

By default, Skychart install only a small JPL DE430 file valid between 2000 and 2050 to not make the installer too big to download. Then out of this period it use a compact library based on DE404 that can compute the planet position between -3000 and +3000. To extend this computation you need to install another JPL ephemeris file. For your case you must install DE431 (beware this is a 2.5GB download) that can be used to -13000.
