| Description | Hello Patrick, Should you ever run out of ideas to improve the program, I have a feature request to suggest: it would be great if the custom horizon picture were to automatically darken upon the arrival of night time. I guess optimally this could be done by applying a filter in progressively darker steps depending on the altitude of the Sun and I reckon the presence of the Moon shine (similar to the sky background colour behaviour) ...? Another useful feature would be to allow for an adjustment to be done to a vertical "Picture angel offset" parameter as well. Best Regards | ||||

Hi Hugo, This is a good idea. At the moment for my location I use a picture I take at dusk so the horizon feature are dark and this look good at night. But this will be better with a darkened daylight picture. I also look if it is possible to add a vertical offset. |

This is implemented by: https://github.com/pchev/skychart/commit/1307d6890faaa679dfe68f4f6ca451e4731c87af This will be in Monday beta version. There is two new options in the observatory horizon settings: - a checkbox "Darken at night", checked by default. - a vertical offset value that can be set between -20 and +20 degrees. I like the darken feature and will redo my horizon picture in full daylight to use it. |
