Summary0002865: Caused crash of SkyChart
DescriptionDear Patrick,
I (foolishly) updated to the latest version of Tahoe 27.0.1.
I ran CCDciel, Sky Chart, and Indiserver, which had previously ran fine in Sequoia.
Everything seemed to be OK but I added a driver to indistarter and I think I caused the telescope to disconnect the telescope simulator driver to disconnect from Skychart. Then a crash of Skychart happened.
I closed everything down and tried to run the set up again and I could no longer connect my canon 6D as the access to the port was denied. The 6D was shown as connected in indistarter.
To be honest I am not sure of the sequence that caused the crash but I did copy the crash report.
I also had a violation message of indistarter.
Both are attached below.
Regards,
Rob
Steps To ReproduceSorry cannot remember the steps I did to be able to repeat it.
Additional InformationIt is most likely I did something wrong so I hope I am not sending you on a wild goose chase but I thought it was best to report it just in case you may see something that needs fixing.
I sorry I cannot be more helpful but you may be able to identify the problem from the crash report.
I am experiencing other problems with Tahoe and will as soon as I can reinstall Sequoia even tho it means a complete reinstall.
However it will be a while before I can do this, so if you need me to try anything to help please let me know.
Kind regards,
Rob

I not see attachment, the file extension here are limited because of the web server security, the best is you put all the files in a zip file to upload here.

Do you completely restart the Mac? the port access denied for the 6D let me think an instance of indiserver can be still running is the background.

Hi Patrick
Hopefully file attached.
After more trials the connection of the Canon 6D seems to be due to the OSX connecting in in the background as a drive. The only way I can connect the 6D is to remove the SD card. I have searched the web to disable this but no joy so I am at a loss on this.

Yes, it is very probable the skychart crash is because of the telescope connection, there no symbol name in the skychart trace but the NSTextView _scrollRangeToVisible is the error I observe in this case.

On Linux there is the same problem with the system that try to mount the camera as a drive. You can try to ask other Mac user in the Indi forum.

Thanks Patrick,
I will ask on the indi forum.
I did try the Apple forum and it seems to be an apple issue many people asking the same question with various answers non a solution.
So far as long as I remove the SD card before connecting the camera, connection seems to be consistent.

Go ahead and close this issue
Thanks again for your help.

Rob
