I did a little more testing. The right ascension grid labels are definitely out of alignment, no matter the constellation or part of sky. In previous versions, they were aligned to the top (or bottom of the chart). The declination grid labels seem to be aligned most of the time, but sometimes, where a declination label should appear there is nothing (label missing). Because we read from left to right, I think that the declination labels should remain to the left, as in previous versions. One more thing. I used CdC for printing charts for many years now. I think it would be very nice if the RA/DEC grid labels would appear ABOVE the stars, not below; I mean that the labels should not have portions of them deleted if a star is in the same area of chart. Stars that are close to the margin of the chart are not of use when it comes to using the chart at the telescope. I find that the RA/Dec labels are more important. This is just my opinion. Another point when it comes to printing. I think that in previous versions (I mean versions from years ago) the grid lines (dash, dash dot, dash dash etc) looked a lot better in print. Now, even with anti-aliasing off, the lines are somewhat blurry and stubby... |

Revision 2748 fix the grid label position: http://sourceforge.net/p/skychart/code/2748/ Revision 2749 draw the grid labels above the other objects: http://sourceforge.net/p/skychart/code/2749/ I add the other point to 0001240 because this is related to this report. This will be examined for the next 3.12 version. |
