Summary0001557: Observing List does not display all objects
DescriptionI have created an observing list and none of the stars in the list are highlighted. Also some nebulea and clusters are not shown. I have ticked both the mark objects on chart and allways show observing list objects. There is only one chart open. Stepping through the list will move the focus to that object but they are not highlighted in green.
Mel 25/ Hyades not highlighted.
Algol ditto.
Ux Dra ditto.
U Ori ditto.
NGC 7662 Blue snowball is sometimes not highlighted in green.
It is not possible to add constellations to the observing list.
Steps To ReproduceNGC 7662 was only showing this problem when part of a list with about 100 objects on it.

The problem is I cannot just add the label from the list as this produce duplicate with the standard label.
So I try to match the label from the catalog to the label in the list.

So to show a mark for Algol you must set the star label to "Common name" in Setup/Display/label
Can you confirm this case is OK with this setting?

I add a way to mark the star label even if they not match.
But in this case there can be duplicate label if the name do not match.
The change is available with next Monday beta version.

Now all the object you mention plot the green label correctly.

I not make a list of 100 object to test for 7662, but the Herschel 400 list all the objects without problem. If you still have problem with this one please open another bug report and attach your file.

Constellation name are not selectable on the map so you cannot add them this way.
But the format of the observing list file is very simple to edit to add anything you want. Just be sure you enter the RA in decimal degree (multiply hours by 15), and respect the column position.
For example this row add Perseus :
Perseus 52.8 44.8 Perseus
