Thanks Patrick,

For my Nvidia Gforce GTX 1060 6Go, i tried the nvidia proprietary drivers 375.20, 375.10, 367.57, 370.28, 367.44, 370.23 and 367.35, but no success with Virtualmoon.
I will try the open nouveau driver, but i'll have to recompile a new kernel :-(

I can make VirtualMoon working by switching from nvidia opengl to Xorg-X11 opengl.
It's rather slow, but it works.

Thank you for your feedback Jacques.

I take more time to read the nvidia changelog for all this versions and I find that the switch from working to not working is when GLVND was activated by default.

I try to install the driver with the option to disable GLVND and both Virtual Planet and Moon work with the last available driver 375.20.

To install this way just add the option --no-glvnd-glx-client to the nvidia installer:
sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-375.20.run --no-glvnd-glx-client

Can you confirm this also work for you.

Thank you Patrick for the tip.
With Gentoo Linux, all the packages may be compile with USE flags set or not.
For nvidia-drivers, the use flags are :
X acpi driver gtk3 kms multilib tools -compat -pax_kernel -static-libs -uvm -wayland

By setting the compat use flag, Gentoo will install nvidia-drivers with the non-GLVND libGL option for backwards compatibility.
https://packages.gentoo.org/useflags/compat

So i just had to install nvidia-drivers with the +compat use flag and now VirtualMoon (and VirtualPlanet) works just fine !
Patrick it was the right way to go, thank you again !

Nice!
so we have a usable workaround for this problem.

I close this issue but I still have to find the real fix with libglvnd.
