This is because you check "Minimize windows into application icon" in System Preferences / Dock.
If you uncheck it CdC reduce and re-open normally from the dock.

Otherwise when reduced into the icon you have to right click on the dock icon, select "Show All Windows" and click on the small windows image.

I don't know which event from the system it must handle to re-open directly. I let this issue open if someone as more information on this subject.

FYI, CdC is the only app that behaves in this manner. Every other app reopens when double clicking on its dock icon. Thanks for the workaround.

One more trick, this problem occur only if you reduce CdC using the title bar - yellow button.

It re-open normally is you reduce it using the keyboard cmd+H, or by a right click on the icon and select Hide, or from another application by selecting "Hide Other" in the top menu.

Curiously using the top menu "Hide skychart" which is normally the same as cmd+H do not work, the window close and re-open immediately.

Thanks for the workarounds. Actually, I reduce CdC by double clicking on the title bar as it's easier than clicking on the yellow button.

FYI, Virtual Moon Atlas behaves correctly. Double clicking on the Dock Icon after reducing correctly expands and reopens.

I just installed Virtual Planet Atlas and it behaves correctly too. Double clicking on the Dock Icon after reducing correctly expands and reopens. I hope this info helps. Thanks.

This confirm the problem is only with Qt/Cocoa I use for Skychart.

Moon and Planet Atlas use the old Carbon interface but there is too much bug to use it with Skychart.
