You can connect a GPS to Eqmod to set the coordinates in Eqmod: http://eq-mod.sourceforge.net/faqs/gps.html In this case I can use the ASCOM command available to read the coordinates from the mount driver and set the CdC observatory, I can add a "Get location" button in the CdC ASCOM interface. This as the advantage to work with every mount with integrated GPS. Do the smartphone gps work with Eqmod? Can you give me the name of the app I can use with Android to make some testing? |

Hi, That is also a good idea. Get Location from Eqmod will do the job as well. Yes, smartphone GPS does work with Eqmod as well. I add this function in the today beta version, there is a new "Get location" button in the CdC Ascom panel. This set a new site with the mount GPS coordinates and name "Telescope". Please check the longitude is in the right direction using the map in Setup/Observatory.
