Summary0002617: at zoom level 3 , "WAC_LOWSUN albedo" (in the info bar along bottom of the screen) is replaced by "NONE albedo"
DescriptionThe moon map degrades at zoom level 3, it becomes grey and almost featureless. I notice that the "NONE albedo" message appears in the bar along the bottom of the screen. This also happened at version 7 but a bit differently: in version 7 only the large central map segment (curved rectangle) was affected, at version 8 the entire screen is affected.

Steps To ReproduceZoom up to level 3 or above, as soon as zoom level 3 is achieved, the map degrades.
Additional InformationBrief glimpses of the higher resolutions flash into view when rolling the mouse wheel.

Hello,

The low resolution display is because it only use the Albedo overlay that is intended to add global gray structure to texture without albedo, like the "LOLA_Kaguya_Shade".
The reason it not continue to show the "WAC LOWSUN" after level 2 is probably because of wrong installation of the additional levels, or corrupted files.

An important point is you must not mix version 7 and 8 installation on the same computer.
Downgrading of the configuration file from 8 to 7 is not supported, also texture directory mismatch between the two version can produce the kind of effect you describe.

The first thing to do is to uninstall the two version 7 and 8, then reinstall only the version 8 and the additional packages.
After that you can redo the configuration and it must work normally.

thanks for advice. I uninstalled and reinstalled, the behaviour is different: zoom beyond level 2 is not possible (max. 943m/px) (and therefore I cannot that the orininal problem is fixed)

Do you install the package virtualmoon-data.exe ? this add the textures for level 3 and 4.
It is available from https://ap-i.net/avl/en/download#additional_data

The high resolution package add the level 5, the very high resolution packages the level 6.
