Yes, how it is done at the moment can work only on Linux.
I will look to make it work also on Mac.

I make the change to launch IndiStarter on the Mac.
This require IndiStarter to be installed on /Applications

You can try with version 0.9.90-3600 https://vega.ap-i.net/pub/ccdciel/daily_build/

IndiStarter is installed in /Applications but it is not started either when CCDCiel is started or with the button.
I did see nothing in the logs.

Can you try the following:
Open a terminal window.
Type :
open /Applications/IndiStarter.app --args -s

IndiStarter is running after the command but it is detached from the terminal and there is no logs

This is expected, the command "open" do the same as a click on the program icon in /Applications , so it is detached and not show any output.

I remark the Start button in the profile editor do not work on Mac, probably some limitation with modal form, I will remove it because it is not really necessary.
But it must work if you check the box "Start Indistarter", save the profile, click Connect.

I confirm that if the "Start Indistarter" checkbox is checked, INDIStarter is launched when the Connect button is used.

Good, I remove the "Start" button from the profile editor, it was not necessary and may give the wrong impression it must always be started here.
