Summary0000606: Terminator has a Zig-Zag shape
DescriptionThe terminator is not smooth, but appears as several segments, each offset either to the left or right several degrees. Sometimes there is only one break, other times the terminator may appear as several segments.

This problem occured with the 5.0 version released in Dec 2009. It is 100% reproducable.

I have just downloaded the April 26th beta version with the same results.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.
Steps To ReproduceLoad the program.
View the terminator with the default settings.

Yes, this behavior is visible since the first VMA version.
This is because of the triangle used by OpenGL to draw a sphere and the property of the specular light.

To minimize the effect click the Setup tab on the right pane.

- Increase the value for "Smoothness" as far as your graphic card can give a decent FPS rate. This make use of smaller triangle.
- Lover the value for "Specular" lighting to about 10% and keep "Diffuse" to maximum.

If you set "Phase with dynamic relief" in Configuration / Texture this effect is totally invisible.

In revision 293 I change the default lighting to minimize the specular light.
