| Description | Probably due to recent Ubuntu updates, Skychart no longer starts on Ubuntu/Kubuntu 12.04. I have tried with builds 1918, 1944 and the stable release 1829. The latest build 1944 does start on Kubuntu 11.04 (KDE 4.73) *** Please note this is the 32-bit version of version 3 of the Linux kernel *** *** There is an option missing from the drop-down box "Select Profile" | ||||

Do you try with the setting that was necessary for Ubuntu 11.10: LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=0 Do you try if the Lazarus IDE work? If it is already packaged for Precise just do apt-get install lazarus I will begin testing with 12.04 after it go beta. About the Mantis profile, I need to do some change because the Gtk version is much more important than the kernel. |

I tried all the suggestions as per bug #880, no change. As this is also happening in Kubuntu 12.04 (KDE 4.7.3) but not in Kubuntu 11.10 (also KDE 4.7.3) I think this is not related to bug #880 as overlay scrollbars are not installed. Most likely a recent (GTK?) update that has been applied to both Ubuntu and Kubuntu 12.04. SkyChart worked perfectly about a week ago as I normally start it as soon as Monday's update has been installed. I didn't try Lazarus. A 149MB download/update to my system and my internet connection is intermittent due to stormy weather. |

I tested Ubuntu 12.04 and the Lazarus IDE from the Ubuntu repository also hang at startup. Here the bug report for Lazarus: http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=21129 This was solved today: http://svn.freepascal.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi?view=rev&root=lazarus&revision=35051 I apply the patch to my Lazarus 0.9.30.2 and now Skychart work correctly. It still need LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=0 for all the functionality. This will be available for testing after I make a new beta version with revision higher than 2095.
